You come home from a long day, kick off your shoes and get ready for an evening on the sofa watching your favourite tv shows. You walk into the kitchen to flick on the kettle and you see the dishes piled up, the cat needs feeding, the floor needs sweeping, clothes need putting away, your kids toys strewn all over the place, your mother calls and needs you because her toilet is broken, then your boss calls and asks you in for extra shifts over the weekend and all you want to do is empty your mind and relax your shoulders!
All of a sudden, a night on the sofa relaxing seems further and further away.
“The mind is just like a muscle - the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets and the more it can expand.”

BREATHWORK
Most people know that taking in more oxygen is beneficial for the body and the brain. So why aren't we utilising this FREE, pure, organic resource for our own benefit?
Usually, we breathe quite shallow, which limits our oxygen intake. But learning specific techniques for maximum oxygen intake is liberating. When we breathe in, the clean oxygen travels throughout the blood and the body which helps nutrient absorption, this regulates hormones, speeds up waste elimination, toxins, viruses, bacterial infections, reduces inflammation and gives our immune systems an incredible boost!
Who knew that breathing could have such an affect on us!
Learning specialised breathing techniques and practising for only 5 mins a day can
- Help control psychological conditions
- Reduce stress

-Improve organ function
- Improves and in some cases cures COPD, Asthma and other chronic respiratory conditions
- Increases energy
- Lifts the mood, increases positive thinking and really helps life become a little easier.

Sound Therapy
“The Gong has the power of Creativity.
Absolutely it is a therapy.
And it can expand the mind beyond its horizon”
- Yogi Bhajan

It's been known for generations that different levels of sound waves have different levels of effect on our physical and mental states.
In fact, sound has previously been used as a weapon during wartimes across the globes. The SS officers during the second world war experimented on prisoners with various sound frequencies to observe the effects. They observed a multitude of behavioural patterns from rage, to lethargy, to feeling irritable, to pure psychotic episodes, depending on the frequency of sound played. However, this all sounds terrifying, but if sound can be used in a negative way then surely the possibilities of playing sound frequencies for healing and positivity must be endless!
Our governments have ceased and hidden away scientific folders and files containing the works of historic scientists who have proven that sound frequencies can kill cancer cells within the body and eliminate pain. This means that if cancer cells can be killed via sound, then surely its possible to improve every organ, heighten every feeling and induce peace, calm, relaxation, healing, increase motivation, improve mood and even promote love!
Mahala from "Earthtones sound therapy Centre" in Mansfield, soon realised that after a "Gong bath," the pain from the fibromyalgia that was crippling her, had subsided so much, that she was able to walk. So, Mahala set herself on the path of learning everything she could about sound therapy to provide others with the same relief that was brought to her. Check out the Earthtones website here for details on Gong ceremonies and treatments.
Darren Clarke from "Congeries of Sound" in Kirky-in-Ashfield, has also been working in the field of sound therapy for a number of years now. Using a range of instruments like the Tamado tuning forks, Darren is able to sense where negative energy in the body is causing blockages and uses alternative instruments for the release of that negative energy. Just incredible. Book in for a Gong Bath with Darren here on his facebook group!

Colour Therapy!
Who knew that colour could have such a positive impact on our day-to-day lives?!
Colour therapy, which is also known as "Chromotherapy" is the use of different coloured lights to induce certain effects on the brain.

However, this also goes deeper as, during the boom of consumerism in the early 1900s, marketers soon came to understand how colours could influence buying habits of men and women shopping in a supermarket. They experimented with certain products using specific colours to seem more attractive, calming and bright and cheerful. So if colour can be used to change our perception of a product, then imagine what it can do for our mental health states.
